Chicken Masks

There comes a time during the year that we have to make masks for the children. This is an easy version of chicken masks.  I did this activity with senior infants.
I do advise to cut the masks yourself and the beak to save time.

Materials:
Cardboard or a cereal box
Yellow Crepe Paper
Orange felt for the beak and red felt for the top part on the head. Black felt for the eyes
Glue
brushes for glue
Pipe cleaners

  • After we have the mask shape cut off, we are going to spread white glue all over the surface to work. We place black felt on top of the eyes, making sure to open a small holes in both eyes for the child to be able to see.

  • We tear a bit of crepe paper and we turn it into a small ball, then we stick it on. Trying to cover the whole surface and not leaving any white spaces.

  • We then place a bit of glue and then red felt on the top of the head, and cut it.

  • We use Pipe Cleaners to keep tie the mask on their heads.

  • And now its ready to be used for any play or Nativity activity.
